Thoughts and goals for 2014

So I know we’re nine days into the year, and I haven’t really mentioned a thing about resolutions or goals or a word for the year. I’m still rolling around in my head what I want to accomplish this year. Mostly after how crazy life got at work the last four months, I’m just happy to have survived 2013.
The Mister and I still want to sit down and figure out some household projects to accomplish this year…so I guess I might finalize my goals in the next week or so.
Anyway, I saw this short resolutions list on The April Blake Blog’s facebook page, which she got from The Hungry Meets Healthy Cooking Blog (which I need to start reading), and I finally traced the source of the list to LaurenConrad.com. And I thought this would be a good starting point to make some initial resolutions to get to work on.
A bad habit I’m going to break:
Going to bed without taking all my eye makeup off. Raccoon eyes in the morning are not cute.
A destination I’d like to visit:
We’re hoping to get out to Hawaii this summer, but I also want to visit Miss Angie in Salt Lake City (heads up, girl!) and train at my jujitsu friend’s school while I’m there.
I’m going to work harder at:
Cooking dinner at home. Life got too crazy last year, and I miss regularly sitting down with The Mister in our dining room.
A project I’d like to finish:
Speaking of the dining room, we’re hoping to open the walls up more, replace the windows and repaint it.
A class I’d like to take:
I’m starting a leadership class for work next week, but that’s not really a want as much as a necessity. I’m hoping to promote to brown belt in jujitsu soon, which means I can start attending the black belt classes at the dojo.
I’d like to spend more time doing:
Writing and journalling. This was a goal last year, and I barely touched my notebook. I miss writing for myself so much.
A food I want to eat more of:
Local fruit and veggies. I have a goal to let as little of our Brown Box Veggies produce to go bad as possible. It might be time to think about getting a separate freezer or learning how to can.
I want to wear more:
Nail polish. I almost never do my nails anymore, and that’s silly since I have Julep subscription.
