I was going to do Friday Confessions today, but I just got news that is so much more important.
One of my high school classmates was killed yesterday morning in Afghanistan during his sixth deployment. He was a proud soldier in the Marines, and he was due to come home later this month.
His wife and I also graduated together. They have three children together. When he was home between deployments, he was a volunteer firefighter.
Please keep wife, children, parents and family in your prayers and thoughts. This is a reminder to me to be thankful for the men and women who serve our country daily at great personal risk and for their families.
