I confess that I haven’t had the time today to record my confessions on Facebook live, but that doesn’t mean that we won’t be having the Friday Confessional party. I’m just going to share them in written format the way that the party used to be weekly.

I picked up our income taxes today from the accountant, and that’s really thrown me for a loop. Good old Uncle Sam. I’m perfecting willing to pay what we owe in taxes, but I don’t like when the bill turns out to be double what I have in savings.

As a result of the surprise with our taxes, the Mister and I have scheduled a budget meeting for the weekend. I’m fairly certain that this is going to affect our long-term goal of paying off our debt snowball this year [see Let’s Talk Money Goals for 2017].  That’s disappointing, but we’re not giving up.

I’m thinking that a big tax bill is great motivation to get to work on the side hustles. We’ve already blown our benchmark for June out of the water [see June Goals & Habits], but that doesn’t mean that we can’t do better. I need to get more items listed over on Etsy [check out my shop – Chasing Blue Jays], and I’m sure that we could declutter and sell a lot around the house to increase the income this month.

We’re finally heading out to see Wonder Woman this evening. We have planned to see it on opening weekend, but life happened. I’m really looking forward to this movie – if you’ve seen it, tell me what you think of it in the comments.
