Hi friends!
Can you believe that two weeks have passed us by and we’re already at #FitforMeThursdays again? Boy it seems like time is moving quickly. So. #FitforMeThursdays is a linky hosted every other Thursday by Health Not to Nut, Emilie Lima Burke and She is Joyful to help motivate each other to stay on track with our health and fitness goals.
This week’s theme is motivation.
I guess when it comes to motivation, I think the first thing that needs to be addressed is that I’m competitive. Since a lot of my goals are more centered on fitness ability or accomplishment rather than a goal weight or dress size, I look to the people, especially the women, in my life for inspiration.
I guess I have an “if she can do it, then I can do it attitude.”
For example, several years ago, my sister-in-law began running an annual 12K and then a few years ago she and my brother completed a half marathon. And boy, was I envious. Not in any way that puts down her accomplishments. It’s awesome!
And I know that like me, she started training without any previous sports or running experience, and look what she did! I want to do that, too! It’s not about time. I don’t know her race times or care because I’m not competing with her – but she’s a great example that I can do that, too!
This happens in jujitsu as well; there are currently four female black belts in our school actively training. And in our extended jujitsu family, the women really look out for each other. And we all build each other up through the journey. It’s amazing.
Currently, a lot of my friends lives in other cities; we do things such as fitbit challenges and cheering each other on via daily mile, and I also look to other bloggers for inspiration.
Happy Friday! I am STOKED to be down 1.8 pounds this week for a total of 62 since January!! I ate really clean this…

I’m also lucky enough to be part of a closed Facebook group in which all the members cheer each other and hold each other accountable. Finally, there’s Pinterest, but I have to be careful there because I want to keep my vision of “fit” healthy.
So….what motivates you? Will you be joining the #FitforMeThursdays linky?
