I heard this on the radio this morning and thought it would be interesting to share:
Reindeer are the only animals who can see ultra-violet light. It’s a defense mechanism so they can see things like a polar bears against a snowy backdrop.
Reindeer can run at speeds of 50 mph and swim at 6 mph. When reindeer migrate, they can travel up to 23 miles in one day.
No wonder they are Santa’s animal of choice.
