I hope that you are all enjoying this beautiful September morning. Here in South Carolina, the sun is shining, which I appreciate after the rain the last few days. It’s time for a nice cup of hot coffee or tea and a little chat.
If we were really meeting for coffee this morning, I would ask you to keep the Mister’s family in your prayers. His uncle had surgery this morning because he has continued to have strokes over the last two years. The most recent was a couple weeks ago, and his uncle’s mother passed away last week. It’s been a hard time for the family. Prayers and positive thoughts that the situation improves.
If we were really meeting for coffee this morning, you would notice that I’m wearing flats again today. My feet are not happy with me, and the blisters from the walk this weekend are angry! I promised myself after about fours in the rain on Friday that I had earned a new pair of heels. I think either of these lovelies from Shoe Dazzle are just the ticket.
Each pair raises breast cancer awareness. 10% of the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. See? I can support my causes without tramping through the rain. =D
If we were really meeting for coffee, I would ask you if you’re going to dress up for Halloween. We have a few friends who throw a party each year, and the costumes get wild. This year, the Mister and I might be at music festival instead, but if we aren’t I’ve already got my costume…in the meantime, here’s the last few years:
If we were really meeting for coffee this morning, I would say that I can’t believe that it’s less than three months until Christmas. That seems crazy considering that we’re still running our air conditioning. How many of you will be traveling? I think we’ll be staying close to home this year considering that last year we were in San Francisco and that the Mister’s grandmother will want to see us. She’s 93 years old; we have to take advantage of the few holidays we have left with her.
Well, on that note, I think I have to wrap our coffee date up and go start my Christmas shopping. I’m kidding…kind of. Thanks for meeting me for a quick cup this morning. Have a great day!
Isn’t this coffee cake the cutest?
