Hello loves,
I’m a little bit embarrassed to see that we’re halfway through April, and I haven’t written one update here on the blog. Life has definitely been a little crazy lately, and I wanted to catch you up on what’s been going on.
During the last week of March, the Mister headed out of town to Reno for our jujitsu national convention. We couldn’t make the budget work for us to both go this year. Originally, we didn’t think either of us would be able to attend.
Since he was going to be recognized for his fourth-degree black belt promotion in 2015 (and he was invited as an instructor), our Senseis conspired and bought him a plane ticket. To us, this was reinforcement that God will provide when you’re handling your money correctly. Hopefully, it will be my turn next year after my black exam in the fall.
While the Mister was out town, I asked a friend if she would help me with a surprise. I spent my Friday evening moving everything out of our bedroom, and we spent Saturday painting the bedroom. This color was inspired by Miss Angie’s color choice for her bedroom. My choice is a couple shades away in the same color family.
I’m in love with the results, and I’m especially thrilled with how the color looks against the quilt we received for Christmas from my parents. By the way, Wayfair is an awesome and affordable store for refreshing your home’s decor.
The week after he got home, we went into hardcore preparation mode for the Cayce Festival of the Arts. I don’t know if I shared that with you guys that I was the chairperson for the event. The Festival was last weekend.
We had beautiful weather with the exception of wind gusts up to 35 mph, which nearly blew several tents away. Understandably, I worked very hard that day; according to my Fitbit stats, I had walked more than 26,000 steps, which is nearly 12 miles.
Also, I was pleasantly surprised to be promoted in jujitsu last week. I really thought my notebook would need to be updated and reviewed before I was going to receive a promotion, but I am happy to report that I am now only two ranks away from my school black belt promotion.
And finally, I’d like to report that I took another few steps toward opening my Etsy shop. I’m happy to announce the shop’s name will be Chasing Blue Jays. I will sharing handmade items for you, your home and your furbabies.
Over the last month, I’ve been working with Miss Angie on a logo, and we just finished that up. The shop will be live in the next month or so, but in the meantime, would you help me out by liking the new Facebook page? Thanks!
Okay, reviewing all that has exhausted me again. So a couple quick announcements:
- Friday Confessional will be back on track tomorrow morning; please join me in sharing all your dirty little secrets.
- Wino Wednesday will happen next week since I missed it this week. Let’s celebrate our love of all things wine-related.
Have a fabulous day, friends!
