Happy Gotcha Day!

Three years ago, the Mister and I spent the morning lounging in pajamas with coffee and my laptop, which is a typical Sunday morning scene around our house. We had no idea that day would turn into our family’s Gotcha Day for our pup Roscoe.

But after hearing a puppy crying outside for hours, the Mister went outside to see what was going on and why a puppy was outside in the cold all morning. I don’t think he had any idea when he told me that he’d found a tiny pitbull baby in our neighbor’s yard that I’d go get the little nugget.

We didn’t know that we’d wind up adopting him; I just knew that he’d freeze to death if left outside much longer on that cold November day. Neither of us knew that this little guy would steal such a big piece of our hearts.

Happy Gotcha Day

Fast forward to today: our little 4-week old, 5-pound puppy has grown into a big, lovable 60-pound personality around our house, but he’s still my baby.

Happy Gotcha Day to my sweet pibble. I’m still in love with puppy kisses on my ears, him snuggling against my hip in bed every night, laughing as Roscoe and Paige wrestle their way around our house, and watching him pound back and forth across the backyard chasing squirrels and blue jays.

We don’t rescue pets; they rescue us. And I sure am glad that God led this sweet baby to be a part of our home three years ago.

Happy Gotcha Day!
