Mamarazzi is taking a little bloggy break to enjoy some summer fun with her family, but that’s no reason for the rest of us to skip our favorite linky parties. If you want to play along, grab the button, spill your dirt and link up below. Then be sure to go visit other the links and swing by Mamarazzi’s blog to tell her how much you miss her.
I have been a mess this week. It started on Monday when we stopped to get ice cream. I noticed the next morning that I had dripped ice cream all down my leg. Then later that day, I found dried toothpaste on my thigh. I overslept my alarm on Wednesday morning. And I’ve noticed at the end of the of two different days that I was wearing my underwear inside out. If I don’t get it together, people are going to start doubting my credibility as a grown-up.
I absolutely love going to see local music, and we sure don’t get around to it often enough anymore. Last night we went to see Weaving the Fate at their only Columbia concert this summer. (It’s weird to me to call them that because I’ve known them by their previous band name for the last eight years or so.) It’s always cool to see a well-deserving local band sign a great record deal, but the selfish part of me wants them to stay small so we can go see them intimate venues more often.
I totally sneaked some pictures of the Mister in the dojo the other night. At the end of jujitsu, our Sensei said “Okay, five minutes of grappling, two-on-one.” Since I wasn’t training that evening, I couldn’t resist pictures of the Mister dealing with two other classmates. The Mister is teaching class tonight so I may totally pay for posting these pictures online later…oops.
I am way jealous that my SIL Mireya is headed off the Farm Chicks Antiques Show this weekend. She even made a super-cute dress for it. This is why we should live closer to them. Since I can’t fly across the country for the show, I’m going to have to settle for cooking something from their cookbook this week. Stay tuned for a recipe post next week.
I tried baking a root beer bundt cake last weekend, and it fell apart when I flipped the pan on the cooling rack. The totally didn’t stop us from spooning it into a bowl and eating it with ice cream, but I sure wish it had turned out pretty.
I’m shamelessly going to ask you to go visit my best friend Kate’s blog. She’s getting married next summer and is just beginning her blog to chronicle the planning process. Won’t you go leave her some love at On the Surface? Thanks, love you!
