Remember me? My name is Aubrey, and I used to blog somewhat regularly =)
I’m sorry. I didn’t really mean to take a month-long blog break. In fact, I’d had big plans to do a whole series for our anniversary and to host a giveaway for my three year blogiversary, which was Tuesday.
So, yeah…clearly things didn’t work out. I figure a good confessional will get me back up to speed.
|Because confession is good for the soul|
I decided this morning, I could either get back to blogging today or it was time to close up shop. Since I’m nowhere near done blogging here at High-Heeled Love, I decided I better get back to it. Clearly I need to spend some time getting organized so I don’t fall off the face of the earth again.
I’ve run away to Charleston twice! The first weekend was with The Mister for our second wedding anniversary. And then the following weekend, I went down to visit a girlfriend. As a result of the trips, I’ve come to two conclusions:
- I’m way too old to not wear enough sun protection on the beach. It’s been two weeks since I got burned, and I’m still peeling. I really should know better.
- I just can’t go out like I used to, and you know you’re growing up when you no longer have drunken frat boys trying to pick you up but get propositioned by an older married couple. (I said “no”, btw) It was a random, wild weekend.
I’ve been in discussion with a couple banks about doing a business loan to make a balloon payment on my contract to buy the agency from my partner. I don’t talk about work much on my blog, but I’ve mentioned before that I’m buying it from him because he’s retiring. I’m hoping to know by the end of the month whether I will get the loan now or if I have to wait a while longer.
My MIL and I went to a charity silent auction a couple weeks ago and then decided to act like teenaged girls and take a bunch of “fashion” pictures afterward:
The Mister and I are totally addicted to Mad Men. We’ve been watching it on demand and haven’t seen this week’s episode. I’m way excited to watch it and drool over the fashion and the cocktails.

Last weekend, some friends of ours held a cocktail hour…several of the drinks were Mad Men-esque, though they don’t watch the show. A Dark & Stormy is now my new favorite drink. Yum, yum, yum.
I’m so proud of this guy. This week, he was promoted at out dojo to Sandan, which is third degree black belt. Yeah, my husband’s a badass =)

So, that’s all I have time to share today, but I’m back now, so come by and say next week too! Want to play along? Click the button to link your Friday Confessional up with Mamarazzi.
