I confess…

On Tuesday, I attended a funeral for a friend’s husband. It was terribly sad; he had a very aggressive form of cancer and passed within a year. It also hit a little too close to home. We’ve known this couple since they started dating; they’ve been married about as long as the Mister and I have. He was only a few years older than the Mister is.

This was a reminder to me that we haven’t taken care of our wills or powers of attorney. Nobody really likes to think about that stuff, but you have to if you want to take care of each and your family. And as an insurance agent who reminds my clients to do this stuff day in, day out, we really don’t have any excuse.

My step-sister and her family adopted Sunshine from my last weekend. I’m really glad that this sweet kitten has a family to love her. It will be a much better situation than her being my office kitty. However, the office has been pretty lonely without her.

The only way I’ve survived this work week is lots and lots of coffee. When you work for yourself, it is a good thing to be busy, but I’m feeling a little overwhelmed and exhausted.
