Good morning, lovelies!
Confession is good for the soul, so grab the button and let it all out. You’ll feel better when you’re finished.
I don’t function off just a few hours sleep. You know how some nights you just don’t sleep well? It’s been one of those weeks. After the third night of tossing and turning, the Mister handed me a cup of coffee literally the minute my alarm went off yesterday. “Drink this,” he said. “And everything will be alright.”
Normally on a night like that I move to the couch so I don’t wake the Mister, but there is no couch in our living room right now. The remodel project starts tomorrow so there is no furniture in our living or dining room. Tonight we take down the picture, light fixtures and window treatments.
The house has a very different energy when there is no furniture in a couple rooms. Maybe that’s why I haven’t sleeping well.
Our holiday weekend was pretty low key; we spent quite a bit of time getting said furniture moved. We did get to spend one afternoon at a friend’s pool party. We also took our favorite great nephew swimming.
We also got together with some friends for dinner while they are in the process of moving back to South Carolina from California. He’s already here, but she won’t be here permanently until November.
Because of the holiday, I only made it into jujitsu for one day. I made a joke about needing to work off the adult beverages from the holiday weekend, and our sensei took it to heart. We spent the last 30 minutes of class grappling. That’s a serious workout, especially since nearly everyone in class is a lot bigger than I am. Two days later, I’m so, so sore.
The swimsuit-required events have begun showing up on the calendar. I guess I need more workouts like the other day. The shopping trip last weekend was a success a cute new Converse suit from Target was acquired.
