Good morning, lovelies!
Confession is good for the soul, so grab the button and let it all out. You’ll feel better when you’re finished.
I tried to be domestic over the weekend and make strawberry jam. I found an easy recipe in Southern Living that only called for four ingredients, which I happened to have in the kitchen already.
The top to my blender fell in, and my kitchen looked like a murder scene. There was strawberry pulp on the ceiling, counters and floor.
Thank goodness my Mister is so understanding. We had a good laugh while we cleaned it up, and it was nice to start the week with a freshly mopped floor.
The jujitsu training kicked in the other day when I was checking the mail after dark. I wasn’t paying attention and stepped in a hold in the yard. The next thing I know, I’m on the ground. Fortunately practicing my falls has paid off because I instinctively did what we call a face fall…using my hands to lever myself to the ground.
I’m so glad that I don’t have scraped hands or knees, a busted nose or mouth or a broken ankle….and I owe all that to my training.
Plans for the living/dining/kitchen remodel are underway, and we have commitments from friends and family to help with the labor over the next few weekends. Since we’re taking down lathe and plaster walls, I’m expecting dust everywhere and very limited kitchen use.
Memorial Day weekend begins pool season around here, and I’m not thrilled about swim suit shopping. A couple of mine had to be retired last year, and I don’t think I can get away with just one all summer. There may need to be cocktails before the search begins for a new one.
